Its advantage is that its Color, it provides a natural feeling. Another advantage is that you can find holes in equal distances which helps to flow out all the water which falls onto it. It will not hold water.

If you want to install on the existing lawn then make sure all the grasses are removed and make the floor strong and dead using stones or bricks.
You can join two pieces of Artificial Grass side to side and join it by nailing it so that it will provide a seamless feeling. If you want temporary usage then simply put on the floor as it is.
